Our Team
4 women, 1 goal
Director Carol Anderson has been molding and building connections, between our services and riders for the
past 33 years. Debi Schaner recently joined our team as assistant administrator, and with the dedication of our staff and board, we are continuously finding ways to develop transit availability, for all our communities. We once started with only a team of two and a fleet of eight vehicles, to now a team of three and 22 operating vehicles.
Our Dispatcher's, Jolene Magnuson and Lara Nahara, are accommodating, reliable and continue to create strong relationships with our customers and drivers, throughout all counties.
On behalf of WRT, we invite you to ride with us!
Providing public transit for everyone!
We have over 45 years of transportation history in the rural areas
West River Transit is a public transportation system providing origin to destination bus service for all people in the rural area around Bismarck/Mandan. Our goal is to enhance the mobility and accessibility of all residents in the rural communities that West River Transit serves.
Our Drivers
WRT is a service in rural America that fills the needs of so many of our elderly population. Without our service, many would struggle to travel for their medical appointments and social events. I enjoy casual conversations with all our riders, and it makes me feel good that I can provide assistance. - Dave, driver 6 year
I have enjoyed serving the transportation needs of our customers, through WRT for the past 15 years. Through the appreciation of our rider's support, my hope is that this service will be available for many years into the future. - Rodney, driver 17 years
Our service is essential for young parents that are both working. We offer one-way or round trip services to get the preschooler to school and back safely to home or daycare. Did I mention that our services are affordable too? - Linda C., driver 3 years
"My journey started in 2010, driving for West River Transit. I drove for the local communities' senior needs, including dialysis patients, medical appointments, and shopping. Currently, I am transporting preschool kids to school, home, and daycares. The summer is busy with activities like tee-ball, softball, and other summer events. My time at WRT has been wonderful getting to know a wide range of people from years 4-90! - Penny, driver 13 years.
